GOD wants you WELL!
So why can’t we “heal the sick and raise the dead”? (Matthew 10:8)
Because of Our Unbelief! (Matthew 17:20) Unbelief occurs when we believe the world and Not the word. (Mark 4:18-19).
Some believe that God uses sickness and disease to teach us a lesson – that He will bless us thru our suffering – that He uses our weakness and infirmity to get our attention – to teach us a lesson.
That is NOT TRUE! That is NOT BIBLICAL!
Some believe that HE causes our sickness – that HE gives us the disease or infirmity – that HE wants us to pray for His healing of this sickness – and that when we pray and are Not healed that we should accept our sickness as God’s will.
That is NOT TRUE! That is NOT BIBLICAL!
The Bible teaches that it is God’s will that we be well! He has already given us that blessing.
It is our unbelief that keeps us from receiving it!
God treats the forgiveness of sin AND the healing of our bodies as two parts of the same salvation – unconditional – two parts of the same salvation. It’s not about being worthy or any act or deed we can do. It is about receiving the greatest gift - something we can NOT earn or purchase or deserve in any way – something we just receive!
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Biblical evidence: Jesus never ever in all of the bible, gave anyone
any sickness or disease. Biblically Jesus said that He could do nothing
of Himself but only what He saw the Father do (John 5:19; 8:28-29).
His actions are proof that it is always God’s will to heal.
Biblically the Gospels record 17 times when Jesus healed all of the sick
that were present: Matthew 4:23-24; 8:16-17; 9:35; 12:15; 14:14, 34-
36; 15:30-31; 19:2; 21:14 - Mark 1:32-34, 39; 6:56 - Luke 4:40;
6:17-19; 7:21; 9:11; 17:12-17
41 other times He healed one or two people at a time: Matthew 8:1-
15, 28-34; 9:1-8, 20-33; 12:10-13 - Mark 1:40-45; 2:1-12; 3:1-5; 5:1-
20, 25-43; 7:24-37; 8:22-26; 9:14-29; 10:46-52 - Luke 4:33-39; 5:12-
15, 17-26; 6:6-10; 7:1-17; 8:27-39, 43-56; 9:37-42; 11:14; 13:11-17;
14:1-5, 18:35-43; 22:50-51 - John 4:46-54; 5:2-15; 9:6-7; 11:43-44
Jesus used the witness of miracles – of healing – to validate His
authority. (John 5:36) and the Bible – God’s word – teaches that when
we teach and practice God’s word, then He will confirm it with signs,
and wonders and miracles. (Mark 16:17-20)
Sickness and disease is a curse!
The Bible is divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament.
The Old Testament is the story of how God revealed the law. The New
Testament is the story of how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament Law.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the
prophets I am not come to destroy but to fulfil.
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 lists the blessings promised to those who
keep God’s commandments: and Deuteronomy 28:15-68 describes
the curses that would come to those who don’t.
Sickness, infirmity, and disease are listed as curses – never blessings.
Jesus has delivered us from the curse of the law – “from all the
curses that are written in this book” Deuteronomy 28:20
Galatians 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law,
being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of
the Spirit through faith.
Healing is a FREE Gift:
You don’t have to wait for God to heal. Healing is a gift that God has
already given. It is up to us individually to reach out and take it
as our own!
Sometimes we believe that our sickness is so severe that God’s healing
will come to progressively. That it will take a while for us to be healed.
That is NOT True! That is NOT BIBLICAL!
The lepers of 2nd Kings 7:3-9 acted on their faith and they received His
promise. Instead of being overcome by our problems we can chose to
overcome our problems by His Promise. (Matthew 14:22-24, John 6:21)
Healing is NOW!
As we believe, that is how it will be.
The two blind men believed in the healing of Jesus. “According to
your faith be it done to you” Matthew 9:28-29
The woman with the blood issue who touched the border of the
garment of Jesus and He said, “thy faith hath made thee whole ...”
Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48.
And to the servants of the centurion who sent the message to Jesus
asking Him to “speak a word and my servant boy will be healed.”, Jesus
said, “Not even in Israel have I found such great faith.” Luke 7:2-
10
Speak to your symptoms!
Jesus said. “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed ye shall say
unto this mountain Remove hence to yonder place and it shall
remove and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20
What you think, believe, and speak matters to the health of your body.
Proverbs 23:7 As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Speak to your illness – to your symptoms – to pain, numbness, fatigue,
dizziness, nausea – speak to the specific areas of your body – to your
stomach, head, shoulder, neck, arms, upper and lower back, legs,
hands, feet. Command illness to leave!
Put your faith in the Word of a loving God and speak to the symptoms
of your body.
Mark 9:24 “Lord, I believe. Help thou mine unbelief.”
Why isn’t everyone healed?
Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, every human sins and suffers from the results - the fruits – of sin. We cling to sin and it clings to us, holding us back from receiving the full benefit of His gift.
The Bible reveals that God is light with no darkness – pure and selfless love – life itself. Jesus came to bring that love and life to us – that life and even more abundant life. (John 10:10)
The world and its deceitfulness and disillusion and lies and lusts get in the way of our belief and chokes God’s Word and limits what we allow God’s love and promise to do.
Don’t blame God. Disease is not because of sins we commit. The natural world is fallen. We get old – we die. Our physical bodies move from order to disorder – bones, muscles, organs weaken and degenerate. Accidents happen. Life styles take their toll. Processed foods, drugs, long work hours, internet, pornography, tolerance, and all the pride and unbelief and rebellion of the world damages our belief and has consequences in our bodies. Satan plays on this and uses it to convince us of his lies about God – that God doesn’t love us. That God is mad at us – and wants to withhold His promise from us. Satan started these lies in the Garden of Eden with Eve and he has perfected it over the decades since. BUT the war is over. God defeated satan and death at the cross!
Turn away from the world. Let go and let God!
What if I’m still skeptical?
Step out in faith. Remember that God provisions us after we have obeyed – trusted Him – trusted in His promise – turned away from the deceit and lies of the world – turned away from the fear of man -turned away from self-belief -turned to God. (Deuteronomy 30:1-20) eliminate your unbelief by spending more time with God in His Word. Reach out to God (Mark 6:48) Trust in His promise (Abraham-Genesis 22:1-14; Noah- Genesis6:8-22; Elijah – 1 Kings 17-19).
Proverbs 18:21 Death and Life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Don’t tell God about your problem – He already knows. Tell your problem about God. Thru your faith command the mountain to move!
